Car will be a true 1985 Mini with as close to late 1992 specs as possible.
Car will be Tahiti Blue. White top and stripes. Will be SPI. Black "leather" interior with walnut dash, wheel, and shift knob. 12" wheels. Hi-Lo's. And LHD.
Conversion of the car to LHD is actually causing most of the headache. Apparently the pedal bracket for the conversion of a fuel injected car is no longer produced and had to be fabbed. That's done, but it took some time.
Also, there has been some difficulty in finding the upper dash vents as those are no longer produced as well.
The new body panels (fenders, hood, boot lid) were "easy" by comparison.

Wow! That looks awesome! I think if I can make it to retirement, I'd like an old Mini to tear into and rebuild. Might have to steal your brain if I ever get there!

It's absolutely killing me to wait this long.... but it should be worth it in the end.
The only change I've made during the process was as a result of the picture above. I determined that right hand park wiper blades would eventually tick me off. So, I'm having him change those out. May delay a couple of days (while he waits on parts), but I've waited this long, a couple of days won't matter.
All other delays have been a result of his "real" job, so I can't really fault him for taking longer. He's been very communicative and is always posting progress pictures when available.

It is possible, and I'm not holding my breath, that this thing may get to me in time for Christmas. We'll see.
Current delays are the sourcing of parts. Custom oil lines, slave cylinder, proper steering wheel adapter (they originally sent the wrong one), are just some of the things delaying the process at the moment.

Once it gets here you will forget all of the waiting you had to go through.

Ya. Then when it gets here, I'll have to wait another few months for the snow to get off the roads before I can drive it!

Well.... another setback.
Everything's now pushed back another week.
Waiting on parts again....

Maybe a new years day delivery? Sent from my SPH-L720 using proboards Estimate is to complete it by New Years. Uncertain about delivery after that. But, I guess that's really no big deal. I wouldn't want to drive it in the weather anyways.
