You all may know about the fire in Peru Saturday the 10th of May. The Peru newscenter told this story.

An Historic building in Peru, Indiana was in jeopardy after flames engulfed and adjacent structure. Grant Home Furnishings in Peru caught fire just before 5:30 Saturday (May 10th) evening. The store is located on Broadway downtown next to the historic Circus City Festival Arena. People were evacuated safely from both buildings ...no injuries were reported. The north wall of the circus building has sustained some damage. Circus operators are assessing the damage to see if the first performance can go on as planned in July. Officials are already considering tearing down the furniture store.

As of right now this does not change our plans... the performers are practicing in area schools and parks in hopes that "The show will go on!" However we do need to make sure we have a firm count so we can see if we can arrange a group discount on tickets. Tickets are normally $13 each and sellout fast so we need to get your RSVP June 20 in hopes that we can guarantee tickets. Let MINICCI know how many are planning on attending this great event- we are finalizing plans so we really need to know who is going to be attending. You can either respond to this thread or PM Tazmini or me.

As of today we have 6 cars, 12 people going to the Circus!
I am going to Peru to purchase the tickets on this coming Friday. There is a good chance we will not be able to sit togethr, I will try. If not, I will get as large a blocks as I can together. There will be NO discount as we chose the last weekend and there is no discounts on the last weekend. Tickets will cost $13.00 per person. The Parade will be at 10:00 AM on that Sunday. I will have a time and place to meet for us to travel up together after I have driven up to purchase the tickets. I know that Captain Marvo and Doris will meet us up there. I will keep you all posted with more information after my Friday drive up. If anyone wants to make plans to go with us after Friday, I can give you information on how to obtain your tickets. I called the Peru Circus today and I just wanted you to know that the parade is at 10 am and the circus is not until 2 pm. If you all want to see the parade, please let me know as soon as possible. While I am up there tomorrow I will look around for a place to do lunch if you all want to see the parade. Mike tells me it will take about 1 1/2 hours to get there so that would make us leaving fairly early on Saturday morning. Wanda

That's a clever way for Peru to boost the economy. Stretch it out so you can spend more money.
