Well, I traded my beloved chili red 06 MC for a laser blue 08 MCS over the weekend (yipee!). I now have no need for my Minidomore trailer hitch #1001 (see http://www.minidomore.com)...so I am offering it for sale. This hitch mounts under the bumper cover of any 02-06 MC or up to 08 MC Cabrio and is completely invisible when not in use. When the need for towing/hauling bikes arises, all you need to do is remove the reverse/fog light in the center of the rear bumper cover (or the black cover if you don't have a light), put in a ball mount, and reach under the car to place the pin in. You are then set to tow/haul just about anything. www.minidomore.com is running a sale for NAM members for $175 shipped. I'd like to get $125 for the hitch and will even deliver it to you if you are close by (any excuse to get out and drive the new car, you know....). In addition, I will include a drawbar/ballmount with the hitch. If you were to buy a new hitch from minidomore.com, this is a separate item and would cost you more. Installation instructions will be included. It's very easy to install (30 - 60 minutes). Let me know if you are interested or have any questions. Chris (Fastlane)

No, the hitch does not come with the wiring convertor. I left it in the car when I traded it. You will need a trailer power module and it can be had easily from any U-haul store. You might even find it cheaper from Walmart, Meijer, or an auto parts place. store.uhaul.com/Wiring__lights/Moving/Trailer_Light_Power_ModuleThis unit changes your separate turn and brake lights into a four wire system for your trailer. From my experience wiring my 06 MC, you will need the powered module like I linked to above rather than the regular convertor module that just uses the voltage from your tail lights. The MINI doesn't like to give out extra voltage for additional lights because of the way the cars computer controls the lights....so you need the powered type that just uses the vehicle wiring to "signal" the module to turn the appropriate lights on. Also, to my knowledge, there are no "plug-and-play" trailer harnesses out there for MINI. You have to wire/splice them in. The convertor is small and fits nicely in the left or right cubby in your boot. That's a long way of saying that it is not included, but it is easily obtained. I'm going to have to get another one for my new MCS as well when the new hitch arrives. What is included with the hitch is the hitch itself, instructions, and the drawbar/ball. These alone would be well over $300 shipped from Minidomore.
