I would like to go to slot or drilled rotor that both look good and will work with a nice set of track pads. Ideally, would love to have a track/daily set of pads but I don't see anything out there that really fits the bill. Any thoughts from you frequent track day attendees? Thx.

You should probably talk to Way. He will know what the best out there is for the best price. That way you don't get rotors that shine up and don't work or pads that won't work on a track day.
If you don't have his number on speed dial, look at waymotorworks.com

You might look at the web site bavauto.com They have several rotor choices and some decent pads, including the Cool Carbon street/track pads. There are also several rotors listed on sites like outmotoring.com and all the other Mini parts sites.
Way can get just about anything you want and install it for you when he is in town.

Way's recommendation was to avoid combo pads, just change them before and after the track.

Way is probably the best source of info. I just thought I'd throw that info out if you were looking for someplace else to get some parts. I use separate track pads in front and green stuff pads for street. I don't use different pads in the rear, they are a little more difficult to change.
Way installed my brakes and I have never had a problem with them.

He also made the recommendation, I should run the factory brakes this time out and finish them off. I'm looking at a BBK after that, are you running the special pads only or also a BBK?

I run the Wilwood 12.25" kit in front and Wilwood rotors with stock calipers in back. I also run track pads in front.

I'm looking at the Wilwood kit as well, I'm running 16" run flats. What size/combo are you running and did you have to install spacers?

I run 16" SSR wheels in the summer, no spacers needed. I run 17" non stock in winter, no spacers. I can't run stock s-lites without spacers. There is one type of 16" OEM wheel that will clear the brakes if the balance weights aren't in line with the caliper. Way would know which wheels will clear. I also thing the stock R56 wheels might clear.

Just back from my first track weekend. Still running stock wheels and All Season tires. New wheels and tires came in today, should be set for the next track weekend. Pretty much decided to upgrade the rotors and pads but not the BBK at the moment. I was very surprised at how little wear there was on the factory pads, thought I would wear them out but not much wear at all. Since Way is not around, I'll likely do the install myself.
