It is time to start thinking about the Peru Circus and the fact that this year is its 50th Anniversary. Believe it or not, when I called about hotel reservations, some hotels are already booked up. Last year so many of the people that went were excited about going back this year. So, with that in mind, I am trying to put together at least a Friday night, Saturday Parade and Circus, Winery and dinner event and head home Saturday night. The problem is that with this being the Anniversary year, I need to get started. I called the Chamber of Commerce and am getting information, but I think I know what we would like to do up there. There is a Winery close by that we can go to on Saturday afternoon, they are open from 1 to 6PM. The plan would be go up Friday night, dine together. Saturday morning, breakfast, Parade, Circus, Winery and Dinner together and then home. NOW, I need to know how many people are thinking that they would like to go again this year. I need to reserve a block of rooms soon. I am thinking that 10 rooms may be enough, but I need some of you to let me know if you want to do this again this year. Also I talked to the girls up there and the tickets are going fast as well. Again this year as last year, the Club will purchase the tickets, and you will pay the club back. The rest of the weekend (hotel and food) would be on your own. Let me know as soon as possible if you are thinking about going again. I need numbers. Wanda Baker (Taz)

Wouldn't you know, I posted this and then when my mail came today the information from the Circus arrived at my door. Well, I forgot to tell you that the tickets would cost $13.00 for adults and children under 12 would cost $12.00. Last year we had at least 14 couples. Also the hotel that I am looking into is the Knights Inn. Their cost will be $50.00 for 1 King room and $55.00 for a 2 bed room. There is a restaurant on the grounds that we can eat breakfast at. You know I am up for it. Last year was a blast! I will need to get a head count as I am betting we will be bringing a little one.

Last year we were told to bring lawn chairs for the parade, but the information I received today says for $5.00 we can sit in the bleachers, so if we want to do that you will need to add $5.00 to your ticket price. I think it is worth not having to drag chairs around myself. Wanda

I am planning on making the Peru trip again this year - last year I took my Grandaughter - she is looking forward to going this year. What time is the parade - incase we don't stay overnight?

Also, if anyone is interested we could stay over until Sunday and do a tour of the Grissom Base, have lunch and go home them. I do need some Feedback if this is going to happen, since I need to get tickets and hotels reserved by the end of February. I can reserve a block of rooms, but not until I hear from some of those wanting to return to Peru this year. Wanda

I took my grandaughter last year - we had a great time - she is looking forward to going back this year. What time is the parade and the circus - just checking how early it will be if we don't stay over night.

Don, the Circus Parade starts at 10, but you should be there early to find a parking place. I have to call to see if the bleacher seats are numbered, or if you get what you can. Either way, if you buy the bleacher seats with us, you will want to meet up with us early enough to get good seats. Wanda

Wanda,
We are planning on going Friday - I'd like 2 tickets (1 abult & 1 10 year old) for circus and two seats for parade - also one room - two beds. Please let me know what I should make arrangemens directly on and how I should pay for the circus tickets.
Thanks Don

Capt. Marvo and co-pilot have already made our reservations at the Knight Inn and are looking forward to a fun outing! Let us know when you want a check for the bleachers and the circus. We will not be able to do the Sunday Grissom Base tour and we will be heading home after dinner on Saturday.

THE DEADLINE IS FAST APPROACHING. AFTER ALL THE FUN WE HAD LAST YEAR, I THOUGHT THAT THERE WOULD BE MORE PEOPLE. MY COUNT AS OF TODAY IS ONLY 12 PEOPLE AND 6 CARS. If anyone has made their reservations and not posted, now is the time. I really want to get the tickets for both the bleachers and the Circus purchased as soon as possible. Remember that this is the 50th Anniversary of the Peru Circus. Happens only once and the price is really right. Wanda
