I thought I'd see if anyone was interested in going down for a Fall of the Dragon 3 or 4 day weekend in October. I went down for this several years ago. It was great with the fall colors in the mountains. We did some waterfall runs and got lots of time on the Dragon.
Let me know if you are interested. If I get enough people interested, I will look into reservations and prices at Fontana Village.

Have you seen the dates posted anywhere? It is a great time to go with all the colors but I do remember someone (umm, we won't mention any names) getting bit on the dragon partly because of falling leaves..... And Greg, don't go looking for any old pictues, like the ones taken at the Home Place either!

That was a fun trip and a lot less crowded during that time of year.
Picture! I will have to see what I can find now that you mention it.

I do seem to remember someone getting a little warning bite from the Dragon. I will keep looking for posts about dates. I am looking to see if there is any interest in this event. As soon as I have more info I will post it here.

The wife and I are planning a trip to visit friends in Atlanta with a couple nights near Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg later this year. I was going to go between the two by way of the Dragon as I have never driven on it yet. Might be around that time, but nothing is set in stone yet.

I hate to ask a silly question, but where is Dragon. Has there ever been any cruise in's. I think a good place would be one of the state parks. Like Turkey Run, or Mansfield Lake. Just an idea...

It is in Tennessee and North Carolina. More info on it here: www.tailofthedragon.com/Info for the Minis on the Dragon event from earlier this year and again next year can be found here: www.minisonthedragon.info/

We are always looking for ideas for a Drive/Cruise. Even better if you have a route in mind, we could set up a Sunday event. Drop a PM to myself or MINIDiver.

OK, thanks to Way, we have a date for the fall Mini event on the Dragon. That would be the weekend of October 23rd to the 25th. How many people think the might be interested in going? I will call Fontana Village this weekend to get room pricing and availability.

Do not know for sure, but am planning on heading to Florida that week end and the Dragon is on the way, so might just take a slight dragon detour.

Knowing Mike, I just made our reservations for the 23nd of October, leaving for home on the 25th. We got the same room we always get, since we really like it. You can find Fontana Village on the web at www.fontanavillage.com and look up the accommodations for the many different areas to stay. The hotel room prices will be $79 per night Sunday thru Thursday and $99 on Friday and Saturday. As it gets closer we can plan a run down together, if anyone wants to go with us. We will probably do the same as we always do and let everyone know that we will leave our house at 6am on Wednesday and stop for breakfast on 74 at the Shelbyville Cracker Barrel exit. It is about 45 minutes from our house. We will be taking 2 cars. Wanda Oh, it won't be nearly as crowded at this time.
